Oral Hygiene
By having a good oral hygiene plan you can save a lot of money at the dentist and avoid dental problems. Here are some helpful tips to an easy dental hygiene plan to help prevent cavities.
One of the first and easiest rules to remember: drink tap water. Easy right? We all know drinking water is better for your body rather than drinking something containing a lot of sugar. Tap water actually contains fluoride which helps prevent tooth decay. Each time you take a drink of water, you are rinsing your mouth of any harmful debris that may be caught on your teeth. The second tip would be to brush your teeth twice a day using a toothpaste containing fluoride. Fluoride helps prevent tooth decay by making the tooth more resistant to unwanted build-up left on your teeth that can cause cavities. Flossing is another important step in trying to prevent cavities. Simply flossing once a day removes a lot of unwanted decay from in between your teeth. All these tips are simple ways to possibly help prevent cavities at home, but the most effective way of preventing or detecting cavities is by visiting your dentist on a regular basis. By seeing the dentist on a regular basis, he may detect cavities at an early stage which could save you time and money in the long run. Have you scheduled your next cleaning?
