Preventive dentistry is one of the best ways to maintaining a healthy and beautiful smile. It helps prevent future problems with tooth decay or gum disease. Detecting signs of gum disease or cavities are easier to treat earlier on and usually less expensive. By catching issues early on, this potentially could save a lot of money in periodontal or prosthetic work. Our office recommends an oral exam twice a year. This includes a cleaning with one of our hygienists, an oral screening for cavities, oral cancer, gum diseases and other problems with the mouth. One of the most important parts of maintaining a good oral hygiene routine is brushing and flossing. Using toothpaste approved by the American Dental Association, as well as flossing daily is always recommended by our doctors and hygienists.
