What To Eat After Tooth Extractions
“What can I eat after having my teeth extracted,” is a common question asked by our patients. Hopefully this blog will help our patients suffering from swelling and tenderness after having extractions come up with a new menu during their healing process. Our office stresses to avoid spicy, acidic, hard, sharp and seedy foods. Smoothies are a great meal supplement. Be sure when making smoothies, stay away from fruits and vegetables that contain seeds (i.e. strawberries, blackberries, etc.). Soups and mashed potatoes are also meals strongly suggested during your healing process. Making mousses, puddings, jellos, ice creams, cottage cheeses, Hummus, applesauce, pancakes, eggs and waffles are some foods to have. During this limited diet, please be sure that you get adequate nutrition. Make sure your diet includes protein and vitamin C. Ensure, Boost or Carnation Instant Breakfast are highly recommended during this time.
