Happy Visits

One of the most frequently asked questions is: "When should I bring my child in for their first visit?"  Many doctors have different opinions on what age is appropriate.  Here at Prince Frederick Dental Center, we suggest bringing in your child after their first tooth appears.  Bringing your child in at an early age gets them familiar with the doctor, as well as the procedure. It will begin a lifetime of good oral health care habits.  We will also educate you on your role in caring for your children's teeth at home.

Baby teeth are essential for speaking clearly and chewing.  They also assist in forming a path so the permanent teeth can come in straight.  Taking your child to the dentist at an early age can also help prevent problems in the future, such as tooth decay and cavities. Our team here at Prince Frederick Dental Center may suggest sealants for your young one.  A dental sealant is a thin plastic coating that is applied to the grooves on the chewing surface of a tooth. Sealants are typically placed on the back teeth to help protect them from tooth decay. This is a simple and painless procedure.
